I am grateful for Imagination.
Children have the gift of imagination. They imagine that they are doctors or pilots or professional athletes. They imagine that their bedroom is a set to a movie. They imagine that they are married to prince charming. If they can imagine it, they can experience it.
As we grow up, we often stuff away our imagination and put down our dreams by calling them silly or unrealistic. We think imagination is for kids. As a life coach, one of the challenges I have with my clients is helping them give themselves permission to use their imagination again. Even if it may be too late to become the next Michael Jordan, we can still change our situation with a little imagination.
Imagination can be as simple as imagining feeling a different way. Imagine finding your spouse irresistible. Imagine skipping down the hall to your desk with eagerness to begin your work day. Imagine turning in the best report or project you’ve ever done.
If we can imagine finding our spouse irresistible or being excited to go to work, we actually can change our perception of our situation. If we can imagine it, we can experience it.
